Sanjay Bhandari MBE - Chair
Sanjay has a portfolio of Board and advisory roles in sport, innovation and technology. He is a Board member at the Lawn Tennis Association, Chair of the inclusion charity Kick It Out and is a member of the Inclusion Advisory Board at the Football Association. Sanjay is a frequent public commentator and regular contributor to parliamentary consideration of laws affecting sport, physical activity, governance and technology.
Sanjay is also Chair of the Satellite Applications Catapult which is a hub for innovation in the UK space technology industry. Sanjay was previously a Partner at business consultancy EY and enjoyed a 30 year career in law, technology and innovation.

Charles Johnston
After a wide ranging career across a number of sectors, Charles current activities include working for UK NGBs on their facilities strategies and individual projects, for UK Sport on key elite sport developments and for UK Councils on their Leisure development options. He spent 14 years as Property Director at Sport England, where he established an efficient and effective property, facilities and planning service to help organisations invest strategically in leisure provision to increase physical activity. This included developing schemes that attracted over £1.2billion inward investment to the leisure assets in England as a legacy from the 2012 Olympics.
Most recently Charles worked with the UK Government to promote and secure £100m National Leisure recovery fund that protected the public leisure provision following the pandemic. As well as community facility development Charles has played a major role in Elite facility development including the venues for London 2012, and most recently as Capital Executive Board member for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. He is also an Elite Sports Advisor to Manchester Active, Independent Board member for DCMS on their Grassroots Facility Programme Board and has served for nine years as a Trustee of London Marathon Foundation, where he chairs the Grants committee.​

Denise Lewis OBE
Denise is a former gold medal winning heptathlete, who holds the second highest number of points scored by a British heptathlete, and is an accomplished presenter, broadcaster. She serves as President of UK Athletics and Commonwealth Games England. Since her retirement from athletics, Denise has undertaken an array of television work including commentating on high profile athletics events and fronting shows such as BBC’s Secret Britain and Right on the Money.
Denise won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has twice been runner-up in the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year awards (in 1998 and 2000) and was also honoured with an OBE in the 2000 New Year Honours.

​Denise recently stood down from her role as one of the BBC’s most credible commentators to further her roles in sports administration. She also works closely with Breast Cancer Care and Sparks.

Esther Britten MBE - UK Sport Board Observer
Esther is Deputy Director & Head of Events at UK Sport and is responsible for the UK’s major events strategy, leading the delivery of the Government’s investment in the bidding and staging for Major Events in the UK. Since the hosting of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games the UK has been fortunate to host some of the world’s largest events and is recognised as a leading host of major sporting events.

Esther is a director of the International Association of Event Hosts and former employee and board member of England Netball. A huge advocate for the role of sport in society and for major events unique ability to drive policy change, create incredible memories across a wide range of communities.​​​​​​

Jack Buckner
Prior to joining UKA in 2022, Jack was CEO at British Swimming where he oversaw a hugely successful Team GB performance at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021 with the Olympic team claiming a best-ever haul of eight medals and the Paralympic team taking 26 medals at the Aquatics centre. Jack was the CEO of British Triathlon before British Swimming. During his time there, British Triathlon led the world with their best ever results at the 2016 Rio Olympics and Paralympics.
A former European 5000m champion and two time Olympian, Jack was one of Britain’s leading distance runners and his times remain in the top five on the UK all-time list over 30 years later. His Championship record from the European 5000m in Stuttgart has now lasted 38 years. He also medalled in the World Championships and Commonwealth Games over 5000m.

After retiring from running, he worked as a Strategic Lead for Sport England. Jack has also spent 10 years as a NED for an NHS Foundation Trust hospital and is a current Trustee of the National Forest. ​

Jeanette Wong
Jeanette is the Chief Financial Officer at the London Marathon Group and a qualified chartered accountant with extensive experience across leading brands. She began her career at Ernst & Young, specialising in consumer products, before moving to Innocent Drinks and then the FTSE 100 brand Burberry.
She has held senior roles such as Head of Finance for EMEA at Jimmy Choo and Finance Director of a luxury SME shoe brand, where she led the sale of the business to a strategic partner. As CFO of a tech start-up, she led a seed funding round and formed partnerships with charitable organisations, sparking her passion for social impact.
Before joining the London Marathon in May 2023, Jeanette was Finance Director at Abel & Cole, where she oversaw record-breaking profits and led their B Corp recertification. She is also on the board of Friends of the Earth Limited, driven by her commitment to sustainability.

Nici Audhlam-Gardiner
Nici is Chief Executive of Foresters Financial, one of the larger Mutual Insurers in the UK, focused on supporting everyday families to save and protect themselves for the future. She has an extensive background in retail banking, insurance and investments, including leadership roles at OneFamily, Saga Personal Finance JV, Santander, and NatWest.
Nici has held several board positions, including non-executive roles at Accent Group and Catalyst, both social housing associations, and she is an executive board member at Foresters.
Nici chairs the Financial Education Committee of TISA (The Investment and Savings Alliance), focusing on how we can support the financial education and wellbeing of young people. She sits on the board of The Association of Financial Mutuals.
Nici graduated from Oxford University with a first-class degree in Biochemistry and achieved her MBA at Harvard Business School. She has competed as a Masters athlete, and represents Great Britain in Duathlon.

Nicky Homes
Nicky is the Commercial Director of Great Run Company. Every year GRC inspires over 250,000 people in cities all over the country to participate in its events, accompanied by world class athletes. Since its inception, over 4 million adults and 600,000 children have crossed the finish line raising £775 million for charity. The participants are part of a year-round community running network, supported by 10,000 volunteers, cheered on by over 600,000 spectators and watched live on television by an audience of over 8 million viewers.
Nicky joined GRC in 2008 having previously had a wealth of experience in media and advertising roles, including roles at JC Decaux & Rank Screen Advertising and Carlton Screen Advertising (part of ITV Group).
As Commercial Director, Nicky leverages extensive experience and strategic insight gained from over two decades in the media and advertising industry.

Paul Foster
Paul is the Chief Executive of Great Run Company, one of the UK’s leading mass participation sports events organisers, and a TV production arm, FilmNova, which produces programmes and events for clients including BBC Sport, Channel 4, UEFA, Olympic Broadcasting Services, World Athletics, European Athletics and British Triathlon.
Paul’s career started at BBC Sport, where he spent 10 years and became a Senior Producer, before leaving to become Managing Director of FilmNova. As the MD, he led the business with oversight of budgeting, staffing, resourcing, and commercial and production responsibilities.
He was appointed CEO of Great Run Company in 2017 where he leads across all functions of GRC, with particular specialist knowledge in the broadcast business.​​​​​​​
